Co-founder and Board Director
I am currently the Land Advisory portfolio lead at Mott MacDonald. The portfolio comprises a diverse team of land referencing, geography and geographic information systems experts who deliver land referencing, land access, land assembly, strategic land consultancy and land information management services across exciting cross-sector UK infrastructure projects.
I began my career as a Land Referencer in 2004 at Land Aspects (now WSP) in London. My first role at Land Aspects was to identify all legal interests and rights over land subject to development for major infrastructure schemes, including Crossrail, West London Tram TWAO and the Thameslink Programme. This taught me how to interpret Land Registry titles which often contain legal terminology, how to read and use maps and plans created by CAD, what key features to look out for on site and how to document them, how to liaise with potentially affected landowners and how to engage with project stakeholders at all levels.
Â
Over the years I have worked with high performing, passionate teams that have successfully delivered complex land referencing outputs for the production of statutory orders. These include hybrid Bills, Development Consent Orders and Transport and Works Act Orders for transportation schemes for most of the major UK infrastructure schemes such as High Speed 2, Heathrow Expansion, Crossrail and the Thameslink Programme.
